HOW DOES THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD

The sign says, don't go on the tracks, yet there are "chickens" on the other side?  Can you trust the engineers of yesterday that built this train track over a 100' drop??  Are the "chickens" on the other side trying to figure out how to get over here???  Why is there a veiwing pod 1/2  way out there????  Why are the trails called "outlaw trails"?????......The Veiw from the pod was EXCELLENT!

WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING AT?

3/4 of the way to Welch, WV.  a needed break from the dusty trails.  Then we see it? (see below)

WV 2008?

You could make out the mound and vaguely see bikes (blowing dust) up the wide trail, but we were on a mission to Welch and back, so it will have to wait till 2008!

WORKING SOME SWITCHBACK TRAILS TO THE ROCK-SLIDE

Mental note, check and replace brake pads before going to WV!

GETTING DOWN

LLG makes it down 1 of 3 tiers, but not before sliding sideways, near backwards, back to sideways, and not looking foward to the next drop!

JUST A GREAT VIEW OF LOTS-A-TRAILS

While Dave rev's up his Raptor 700 for the approach, I took some time to zoom out and take in the trails.

WATCH AND LEARN-so we're taking the side trail

A near perfect climb.  Loose gravel, rutted trail, very steep at top, a hump near the top, and then a hard left or right landing.  Soooooooo as you can see the big ute's took the side trail.

TAKE A LOOK BEFORE YOU JUMP!

just a glimpse of whats to come while riding around the "reclaimation trails" or "stairsteps"

GOOD TIMES AHEAD

This area deserves a little respect, in front of me is the "widow maker", (for you "de dah dees") re read the name of the trail slowly and then decide if you want to go down or up.

DUST, WHAT DUST? REALLY, WHAT DUST?

Most people were complaining about some dust issues, I thought it just added some color to a newly shaved balled headed guy.

                                                 WV MUSTACHE !!!

Brown nos-in does not work on the trails.

                                              WHO HAS THE PULL ROPE

Steven said he could make it.......NOT !!!!  Yes we tried the winch, no luck, then 2 bikes w/ straps, then 3 (over 1500cc's of yanking power). This pond is at the bottom of the "Rockslide" and my guess is, is that this is where they fill all those little bottles of Gorilla Glue.

DAVE FOUND ANOTHER WAY UP---CRAWLING!

Pushing the Raptor to the limit and the rider, after 3 attempts, the best answer was to just CRAWL the last 5' to the top.

IS IT DEEP...NOT YET, BUT IT'S GETTIN' THERE.

Win drops in for a little cool time.  The first part has the lights under water, then it comes back up.  This little stretch of streams and mudholes was just a tease before the next 2hours of dusty trails.

STAY ON THE TRAIL!!!

LLG decided to stay on the trail (regardless of the fact that there is a bridge to her left)!!
